Field Club Double Gable

Field Club, Edgartown, MA

This newly built house gracefully weaves together regional shingle-style vernacular architecture, whimsical Hansel and Gretel details, and hints of the English countryside to create a charming storybook cottage. Its classic symmetrical design, double bay windows, oversailing eaves, and front porch all communicate a feeling of warm welcome and sophisticated summertime fun.

The materials and elements used—from the wood-shake roof and fieldstone chimney to the operable shutters and flowering window boxes—enhance the timeless character and inviting atmosphere. This continues to an adjacent, similarly styled carriage house, which accommodates three cars as well as a “man cave” and a library above.
